three sources of scholarships for incoming international students:
(1)The Japanese Government (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology)
(2)Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO)
(3)Private Organizations and Regional Governments

(1)Japanese Government (Monbukagakusho) Scholarship

Those who receive this scholarship have the status “Japanese Government (Monbukagakusho) Scholarship Students”. There are four types of Japanese government-sponsored scholarships supported by Kochi University, as shown below:

(2)Japan Student Services Association Scholarship (JASSO)

The “Monbukagakusho Honors Scholarship for Privately-Financed International Students” is for international students with outstanding scholastic and personal quality who are experiencing financial difficulty.
The “Student Exchange Support Program (Scholarship for Short-Term Study in Japan)” is for international students from partner universities who come to study at Kochi University for a short term (between three months and a year).
